The Scotsman, Edinburgh

The Scotsman hotel opened in 2001 in the former home of The Scotsman newspaper, a landmark Victorian building that sits at the top of North Bridge in between Edinburgh’s Medieval Old Town and its Georgian New Town.  The hotel has 56 guest rooms and 13 suites all with dramatic views over Edinburgh – the Castle, Princes Street, Calton Hill and The Firth of Forth.  Its North Bridge Brasserie &  Bar is set in the newspaper’s splendid original wood panelled reception hall with its imposing marble pillars.  Seasonal menus created by Head Chef, Spencer Wilson, previously at The Dorchester, Le Pont de la Tour and Petrus by Marcus Wareing.

The Scotsman Spa and Health Club is Thalgo’s flagship urban spa in the UK.  Thalgo is the original marine spa brand with a history dating back over 40 years. The company’s philosophy and treatments draw on the riches and power of the sea, harnessing the effectiveness of marine active ingredients such as algae to create highly effective treatments and products with a wide range of benefits. There are seven treatment rooms and over 30 treatments to choose from.
