Aqua Expeditions, formed in 2007, was the first adventure travel company to introduce five-star luxury cruises on the Amazon River in Peru. In doing so, it fulfilled a lifetime dream for Founder and CEO Francesco Galli Zugaro – showing guests one of the world’s most beautiful and remote regions on MV Aqua. In 2011 Aqua Expeditions will launch its second luxury cruise ship, MV Aria.

Based in Iquitos, Aqua Expeditions operates year-round itineraries ranging from three nights, to four and seven nights. The journey takes travellers to the sources of the Amazon River, the remote Pacaya Samiria Reserve and beyond. The Pacaya Samiria was created to protect the ecosystems of the Loreto Region and preserve the villages and cultural heritage of the local people. The region offers outstanding wildlife viewing including the opportunity to see the Amazon Pink River Dolphin.
